This page explains how to permanently delete your Rayn account, what we remove, what we are legally required to retain, and how long the process takes. The information here mirrors Sections 5 and 8.3 of our Privacy Policy.
Ready to delete your account?
Sign in to your Rayn account and use the in-app affordance, or email us directly.
1. How to request deletion
You can request account deletion in either of two ways:
- In-app: sign in to your account at raynlabs.io/account, scroll to the Danger zone, and choose Delete account. You will be asked to re-authenticate before the request is accepted.
- By email: write to [email protected] from the email address associated with your account. We may ask you to confirm via a verification link before processing the request.
2. What is removed
On confirmation, the following are scheduled for hard deletion:
- Your account email address and display name
- Your salted-hashed password
- Your active and historical subscription records (billing period, activation timestamps)
- Any active sessions and authentication tokens
- Your locale and UI preferences
3. What is retained, and why
We retain only the minimum information necessary to comply with U.S. tax-recordkeeping obligations and to defend against fraud or abuse:
- Tax-relevant transaction records held by our Payment Processor(s) and our bookkeeping system. These records are retained per the applicable retention period under U.S. federal and Wyoming state law.
- Aggregated, non-identifying operational metrics (total bandwidth, connection counts per node). These contain no personal data and cannot be tied back to you after deletion.
- Support correspondence. Emails you sent to support are retained for up to 24 months from the date of last contact, then deleted (see Privacy Policy §5).
We do not retain any connection logs, DNS queries, or browsing history. These were never collected in the first place.
4. Timing
Hard deletion of account data is completed within 30 days of your confirmed request. Records retained for tax or legal compliance are removed at the end of their statutory retention period.
5. Cancellation window
If you change your mind, contact [email protected] within 7 days of your deletion request and we can attempt to halt the process. After 7 days, your data may already have been removed and cannot be restored.
6. Refunds
Deleting your account does not by itself trigger a refund. If you are within the 14-day refund window of your most recent transaction, submit a refund request per our Refund Policy before requesting deletion so we can match the refund to your account.
